The Bounty Hunter
For this blog i chose to use the movie trailer of The bounty Hunter staring Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler. the visual and audio message that really attracted me to this movie was the comedy. I personally like comedies and the opening scene of the trailer starts with Gerard(Milo) finding Jennifer(Nicole) at a horse track who happens to be her ex. When he tells her that he is a bounty hunter and is there to take her in the chase starts. It turns out that she is wanted more than the court. The movie turns into the bounty hunter turning into a protector of the bounty. They are chased all around town by people trying to kill Nicole meanwhile Milo and Nicole fight each other every step of the way. Tons of laughs and lost of suspense this movie is a must see.
Shooter
The movie i choose to write about in this blog is shooter directed by Antoine Fuqua. this movie is about a ex-marksman for the military known as the worlds greatest. Bob Lee Swagger played by Mark Wahlberg. He was coaxed into helping the corrupted government assassinate the president of the United States. Not knowing their plan he agreed to help "prevent an assassination attempt." The corrupted government officials used the information he was giving them and input it into a computer that was wired to a automatic sniper rifle information such as wind speed and the position of the cross hairs needed to be in. After giving them this information they took a shot and missed and murder the Ethiopian Prime Minister. They then proceed in framing him for the assassination. After a long chase he finally gives up and turns himself in but he is not done yet. He proves that he did not shoot the gun because he takes the firing pin out of each of his guns when they are not being used. Showing the court that there is no way his gun could of been the gun used to shoot the Prime Minister. After getting all charges dropped he ends up killing all the corrupt Government officials and gets away with it.
Security and Civil Liberties
In the passage about Civil liberties the author makes a strong discussion about how when our nation is threatened, we tend to skimp out on security. He points out events in our past that probably shouldn't of happened on our soil such at the attacks on the World Trade Centers along with the attack on the Pentagon. I personally feel that after these major attacks on America we have really stepped up our national security even though it impacts some of our Civil Liberties such as screening phone calls all the way to new airport security, where they have implemented new screeners that show everything. Although some of our Civil Liberties have been infringed on i feel much safer flying on an airplane now then ever before.
